IVO PERVAN'S CROATIA: When describing our country, we usually resort to numbers, like the world of tourism, or to poetic imagery, like those who closely link their identity and homeland. In the first case, we risk to apper ordinary or superficially vague. In the second, delving into deep roots of our lives, we run the risk of sounding too obscure. Any presentation of Croatia would most certainly include Dubrovnik, the Palace of Diocletian in Split, the Amphitheater in Pula, or the early Christian basilica in Porec. It would also include Trogir, Master Radovan, Juraj Dalmatinac and 8ibenik, Zadar and St. Donat, or the cathedrals of Croatian cities, their squares, forts, or walls. I believe this is the usual story, a calm and natural pace of a modern travelers and their eyes through images. On this journey, it would not be appropriate to burden them with our sentiments or the things we love.
